UCLA Junior LHP Rob Rasmussen – Bruins clinch 2010 College World Series bid
UCLA junior LHP Rob Rasmussen (5′11″ 170 lbs. Arcadia, CA, Pasadena Poly) completes his two-hit, complete game victory over Cal State Fullerton as the Bruins win the 2010 Los Angeles Super Regional to clinch a spot in the 2010 College World Series in Omaha, NE. Rasmussen, a second round pick (73rd overall) by the Florida Marlins in the 2010 MLB first year player draft, walked one and struck out nine to earn his 11th victory of the season and first complete game of his collegiate career. The Bruins earned their third ever trip to the College World Series and first since 1997. They head to Omaha with a program history best 48-14 record.
