One of Mier’s (6′2″ 170 lbs. Pomona, CA, Bonita High School) at-bats during the 2008 AFLAC All-American game at Dodger Stadium. August 9, 2008. Mier would go on to be selected in the first round (21st overall) by the Houston Astros in the 2009 MLB first year player draft. Mier made his professional debut with the Greeneville Astros of the Appalachian League in 2009.
