Cartersville High School OF Donavan Tate 2008 AFLAC game

Tate’s (6′3″ 200 lbs. Cartersville High School; Cartersville, GA) long 9th inning at-bat that helped spark the East’s rally in the 2008 AFLAC All-American game at Dodger Stadium. August 9, 2008. Tate would go on to be drafted in the first round (third overall) of the 2009 MLB first year players draft by the San Diego Padres.

  5. Signed contract, HUGE loss for UNC football and baseball. Not a bad draft for UNC though as the #2 and #3 picks were UNC guys. Tate had been practicing with the football team this past week.
