Nazem Kadri – Toronto Maple Leafs
Nazem Kadri is your newest Toronto Maple Leaf. The 6′00″ London-native scored 25 goals and 78 points last year in only 56 games for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. He also added another 21 points in only 14 playoff games. Kadri started his OHL career as a 15 year old with the Kitchener Rangers. He played two seasons with them, including winning an OHL championship and playing in the Memorial Cup Final. A trade in the off-season brought Kadri back home to his London Knights, where he became a leader both on and off the ice. Kadri is viewed as a slick two-way playmaking center with good speed and perhaps the best hands in the draft. While not an NHL lock, there is a chance he makes the Leafs out of camp this season. If he does not, he will return to the London Knights where he will be counted on to lead the way offensively. He also has a very good shot at making the Canadian U20 team, which will try for it’s 6th straight gold medal in Saskatoon. Nazem Kadri, your newest Toronto Maple Leaf. Make us proud! Kadri played 2 games in the 2 days previous to his first NHL game. He didn’t play bad for someone playing 3 games in 3 days. This kid is a stud, i have no worries whatsoever about his future. @lacore If you don’t include Montreal, Ottawa and Calgary then yes Vancouver is the only Canadian team in the hunt. If you’re gonna talk numbers most of the teams to win the Stanley Cup ever have had mostly Canadian players and stars, and if you look at last years draft, the top 10 picks consisted of 7 Canadians and 3 Swedes, the first American was drafted 16th over all. Also, considering Toronto has been one of the worst teams the past few years, so much for the glory of American players.
