Catching Up With This Seasons Rookies(latest draft picks)
Okay, okay! I know, we’re waaayyyy behind schedule; NFL is, what?, almost 8 games old and the NBA & NHL regular seasons are underway.
Let’s jump right into the NBA since we’re not that far behind with that league…
Says here that Mario Chalmers(Miami Heat) and Darrell Arthur(Memphis Grizzlies) have already “elevated” their game above everybody elses…
From the ESPN.com article;
“March Madness heroes Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were thrown out of the NBA’s rookie transition program on Wednesday morning after being caught in their hotel room with marijuana and women, according to several sources.
“The players were sent home for violating program rules,” NBA spokesman Tim Frank said. “They will be appropriately sanctioned and will have to repeat the program next year.”
Sources said Chalmers and Arthur, who starred on the Kansas Jayhawks’ 2008 NCAA championship team, were also fined $20,000 apiece and could start the regular season on the suspended list. But NBA spokesman Brian McIntyre would not confirm that.”
So I’m going down the roster of rooks, and I’m looking at the numbers, and I’m thinking to myself ~”O.J. Mayo. Is he related to awesome rookie NFL linebacker Jerrod Mayo of the hated New England Patriots?”~ when my eyes run into this virtual BRICK WALL, with the name “Greg Oden” spray painted across it…
I’m thinking to myself(I do that alot, it seems), “Wasn’t he drafted last time around???” and then it came back to me…
And what, you may wonder, is the deal with big-buck-to-sit-injured-pick Mr. Oden(IF you’re not a Portland Trail Blazers fan or hater~those 2 camps already have the 411)?
OUT, with a foot injury, after 13 scoreless minutes against the Lakers.
Okay, we’re off and running but don’t expect the “up tempo” game from us, JUST yet. There’s alot of catching up to do(gotta look up those 2 Mayos’ for instance)!
